Take a seat
Let's talk about mental health
To break the ice , I'll go first...
My struggles with ill mental health came to a head (pardon the pun) back in 1995 when I experienced what was then diagnosed as severe postnatal depression. I spent many weeks in a mother and baby unit and since that time I have been on one antidepressant or another.
After several diagnoses, years of therapies and a lifetime's supply of self-help books I felt able to reduce my medication. My reduction journey was slow, long and successful until I hit the 'wall.' The 'wall' being perimenopause.
One way to help deal with all I have experienced is to write it down. Not only have I found this cathartic but it has created the possibility of helping others. Having lived through the isolation of ill mental health, loss of hope and utter despair it can bring, my wish is that no one has to take it on alone.

Since I created my blogs, I have gone on to create a simple, yet effective, self-help diary called Mood Manager and now provide a support service known as Claire's Chair.

Knowing all too well the obstacles that may divert the route of wellness, I am here to be your guide.
You can find me on various social media platforms where I share more about my own experiences and everyday life. You may also come across a lady called Maureen who likes to give her own opinions on mental health!
